Julius Blackbird, a resident of Walpole Island, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the age of 83.
Julius is the son of the late Elijah and Isabel (Wright) Blackbird. Beloved husband of Deborah Young. Loving father of Royce, Julias (Lee-Ann), Nick (Rhonda), Robin, Wanita (Daniel). Elijah (Angela), Allan (Katherine), Isabel (Doug) and Elizabeth. He is also loved and will be missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Brother of Lorraine Horton and the late Virginia Herndon, Genevieve, Martell, Lyna, Lavina Reed, Ella Jane Wrightman, Adaline Aquash, Bertha Una Murphy, Wilbert and Simon.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service at Walpole Island United Church on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11 AM, Interment at Highbanks Cemetery, Walpole Island.
