Ruth Anne Bowers (Nee Fox) died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth Anne was born in Wallaceburg on July 3, 1941, the daughter of Alex and Vera (Hookwith) Fox. She was the beloved wife of Fredrick Alan Bowers and cherished mother to Tracey. A daughter Sherry predeceased her in 1965. She was a treasured second mom to Mary Colyer (Cary) and Teena Hubert (Rich). Adored Gramma to Austin, Samantha, Haylo, Luke, Justin and Marcus. She was sister and best friend of Bonnie Lauzon (Late Mick). Sister-in-law to Ann (David), Cindy (Tino), Nancy (Jim), Bette (Peter) and Judith (Dan). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her loving canine companion Holly. Ruthie was hobbit-like in stature, but boundless in her love for family, her fondness for shopping and her devotion to all things Christmas.
The family knew that the 12th of November meant that the Christmas tree was going up and the house would be transformed into Christmas Central. And of course, the shopping would be done and gifts were under the tree by the 13th! Ruthie will be missed by all who loved her.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday, September 5.
A social celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at the Clubhouse at Baldoon, 7018 Dufferin Avenue (at St. Clair Pkwy) in Wallaceburg on Thursday, September 6 from 2 – 6 PM.
