Courtney Elaine Johnson, also known as ‘Sweetie’ and Bdaabinokwe “Coming of the Dawn Woman”, passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Public General Campus in Chatham on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the age of 27.
A member of Walpole Island First Nation, Courtney is the beloved daughter of Arland and Aletta White. Loving sister of Andrew White, Arlene White, Alexis White (Darren Kennedy), Cedric Johnson (Hillary Greenbird) and Courtney’s twin brother Ryan Johnson. Courtney will also be missed by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friend of Lance White and Charlotte Day.
The family will receive relatives and friends at her home, 499 Old Ferry Road on Walpole Island on Friday and Saturday. The funeral will be held at the Walpole Island United Church on Sunday, September 9 at 2 PM. Interment to follow at Highbanks Cemetery.
