Road rage incident leads to charges on the 401

Chatham-Kent OPP officials say on September 6, 2018 around 2 p.m. officers responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 near Communication Road.

Police allege the complainant reported as he was driving westbound on Highway 401 when another vehicle approached and began tailgating him.

The suspect vehicle then passed and got in front of the complainant’s vehicle and slammed on their brakes.

The suspect vehicle sped up and began passing several tractor trailers on the right paved shoulder of the highway.

The suspect vehicle was located a short time later and the driver was spoken to.

As a result of the investigation, the male driver, a 25-year-old from Windsor, Ontario has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada,

The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 26, 2018 to answer to the charges.
