Another great turnout at 2018 Dresden Terry Fox Run

It was yet another great turnout for the 2018 Terry Fox Run in Dresden on Sunday.

Cindy Brewer, the event organizer, told the Sydenham Current a total of $35,515.96 was raised for cancer research.

“It has been great,” Brewer said.

“We started seeing a little bit of a trickle coming in at 9 a.m., which was pretty good because we didn’t open until 10 a.m. Then at about 9:50 a.m. it just exploded in here. So busy. We had 29 people (on Saturday) night.”

Brewer said they were close to $5,000 in online donations before the actual Sunday run.

“The committee that we have in place deserve a lot of the praise,” she said.

“They’ve come out every year, some of them this is their 23rd year. They know their jobs like the back of their hand. Our main goal is just to make everyone know that we’re really happy that they’re here and happy to be raising money for cancer research.”

Brewer added: “It has been wonderful. Every service club in town is behind us, they all donated in some way.”
