Toys gathered in Wallaceburg on ‘Positivity Day’

As part of ‘Positivity Day in CK’ a Wallaceburg woman gathered toys last week to give to local first responders.

Krystal Gyuricza told the Sydenham Current she received $170 in cash donations and over $300 in toy donations, in order for the police officers, firefighters and paramedics to help comfort children they encounter in stressful situations.

Gyuricza says she hopes to make the initiative an annual event.

“We had a great turnout,” said Gyuricza, who gathering toys on Thursday in the former Sobey’s parking lot in Wallaceburg.

“I’m very happy. I’m hoping to make this a yearly event, with each year, I hope it grows.”

Gyuricza said she wanted to thank everyone who donated toys and stuffed animals.

“Thanks to the Knights of Pythias for stepping up and helping. My heart is happy knowing we will help a bunch of kids.”

Gyuricza also thanked the Sydenham Current, the Wallaceburg Courier Press and 99.1 CKXS for helping to spread the word.
