Fog advisory in place, impacting morning commute

A fog advisory is in place across Chatham-Kent, as near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Areas of dense fog have developed across the region, forecasters say.

School buses in Zone #6 (Dresden, Ridgetown, Thamesville, Bothwell, Highgate, Florence, Morpeth, Orford) are cancelled this morning as well, but will be running this afternoon.

All other buses are running normally.

Patchy dense fog will persist for a few hours this morning and will affect the morning commute to work, Environment Canada officials say.

“Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination. Fog will lift later this morning under the warm September sun. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.”
