Charing Cross Road overpass project delayed

Chatham-Kent officials say unforeseen structural damage found during repairs has pushed back completion of repairs to the Charing Cross Road overpass above the Highway 401 until near the end of October.

The provincial Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) has informed Chatham-Kent that the total rehabilitation project has been delayed past its previously scheduled completion date of October 1.

As a result, Charing Cross Road will continue to be closed between Doyle Line and Eighth Line until October 26, 2018.

A detour will remain in place, directing traffic from Middle Line (CK #8) – Drury Line – Communication Road (CK #11/CK #40) – Park Avenue East (CK #18).
