Seth Griffith sent to the AHL, will join the Moose

Seth Griffith (Aaron Hall)

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith will begin the season in the American Hockey League, after being sent down to the minors on the weekend by the Winnipeg Jets.

The 25-year-old forward will join the Manitoba Moose.

Griffith enjoyed a solid pre-season with the NHL club, recording 4 assists in five games.

“Some real good jump and real good understanding of the game,” Jets head coach Paul Maurcie told the Winnipeg Free Press.

“Positioning. Exhibition hockey is so unstructured and kind of sloppy, right. You find a guy who knows how to read through that, he’s usually a pretty smart guy. So I like the way he’s played, I’ve liked the way he’s moved. He’s got a real nice set of hands. It’s good, he’s made a positive impression.”

The Moose will begun their 2018/2019 season on Friday when they battle the Iowa Wild.

Puck drops at 7 p.m. in Iowa.
