Arrest made after an assault in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege last month, a man attended an establishment in Wallaceburg.

When he was denied entry, a verbal argument began resulting in him punching the owner in the face, police allege.

The man fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Through investigation, police identified the man and a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection with the assault.

Police learned that the man was also wanted for a shoplifting incident at Walmart in Chatham and failing to attend court.

Yesterday morning, police located the man in Wallaceburg and he was arrested.

The 35-year-old man of no fixed address was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
