Taser deployed during an arrest in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege last night, a man attended a residence in Wallaceburg.

The homeowner asked the man to leave, however he failed to do so and police were called.

Upon police arrival, the man failed to leave when directed and was placed under arrest.

The man resisted arrest and a struggle ensued, police allege.

A conductive energy weapon (taser) was deployed and the man was taken into custody.

The 38-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to leave premises when directed and assault with intent to resist arrest.

He was released pending a future court date of October 24, 2018.

The officer sustained a minor injury to his hand.
