Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege last month, a Chatham man reported that he lost his tap enabled debit card.

Unknown suspects subsequently used it without his knowledge or consent to make eight separate purchases worth approximately $160 at various locations across Chatham, police allege.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible and he was arrested on Sunday night.

A 30-year-old Chatham man has been charged with unauthorized use of a credit card, failing to comply with his Probation Order by being in possession of a credit card and eight counts of fraud under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of November 6, 2018.
