Fatal crash in Lambton County

Lambton OPP officials say on October 25 at approximately 8:45 a.m. the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended London Line just east of Fairweather Road in Plympton Township to investigate a two vehicle collision.

OPP officials allege investigation has revealed that a pick-up truck was travelling east bound on London Line while a passenger car was travelling west bound.

At some point one of the motor vehicles failed to share half the roadway and entered the path of the other.

The driver of the pick-up truck, an 85-year-old male from St. Clair Township, Ontario and the driver of the passenger car, a 62-year-old female from Sarnia, Ontario were both transported to hospital with moderate injuries.

The passenger of the pick-up truck, Mary Margaret Mullen, 82 years-of-age of St. Clair Township, Ontario was pronounced as deceased at the scene.

The Regional Coroner’s Office is assisting.

A postmortem is scheduled for today.

The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Investigators continue to investigate.

London Line is now open and fully operational.

The OPP is actively seeking witnesses in relation to this collision.
