Transport crashes into cement barrier

Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: On November 7, 2018, around 4:15 a.m. Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Scane Road.

Investigation revealed the driver of an eastbound tractor trailer collided with the cement barrier while entering into the construction zone.

The vehicle suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result, the male driver, a 59-year-old man from Sandfield Township, Ontario was charged with careless driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
