Downtown Wallaceburg Holiday Open House is tonight
The 2018 Downtown Wallaceburg Holiday Open House is taking place this evening.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Downtown Wallaceburg,” officials with the BIA said on social media.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 15 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature some “festive fun and shopping in Downtown Wallaceburg” to kick off the holiday season.
“Share the holiday spirit as Downtown Wallaceburg merchants offer in-store promotions and draws, product samples and more,” BIA officials said.
Some of the features, include:
– FREE Horse & Carriage Rides
– Christmas Carollers & WADUKES (Wallaceburg Ukulele Group) Street Performances
– Outdoor Christmas Café (Gourmet Roasted Nuts from The Nut Bar / Little Foot Foods Pierogies / The Black Goose Grill Hot Chocolate Bar)
– A Special Visit from Santa and his PURE Dance Academy Helpers
– PURE Dance Academy Christmas Performance
– A Chance to Win up to $250 in BIA Bucks
“We encourage you to share this event and invite your own friends to join in the festivities in Downtown Wallaceburg at our Annual Holiday Open House,” BIA officials said.

The family of the late Gerald Gagnier are encouraging people to donate blood today in honour of him.
They are hoping to generate 80 donations in his name.

Santa Claus is coming to Wallaceburg on Saturday
The 49th annual Knights of Pythias Santa Claus Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 17 in Wallaceburg.
The parade is set to begin at 2 p.m., with staging taking place on Arnold Street, between Dufferin Ave. West and Garnet Street, starting at 12:30 p.m.
The parade route will be the same as previous years beginning on Arnold Street, to Dufferin Avenue, to James Street, to Nelson Street, to Elgin Street and concluding at the St. Clair Catholic District School Board parking lot.
The theme this year is “Christmas Past & Present.”
“Children, moms, dads, grandpa and grandma bring your letters to Santa, the Knights of Pythias float will be in the parade to collect your letters,” K of P officials say.
“Please remember to bring canned goods for the food bank. The Knights of Pythias will be accepting these food donations during the parade at their float.”
The day will begin at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 18 for the 7th annual “Breakfast With Santa.”
It will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Pictures with Santa will be available at breakfast.
Cost is adult and kids 12 and over is $6, while kids 0-12 are FREE.
