New Year’s Municipal Holiday Hours

All Municipal offices will also be closed from noon Monday, December 31 through Tuesday, January 1.

Other services are scheduled as follows:

Cemetery Operations: Cemetery staff will be on call for funeral homes who require at-need sales.

CK Transit: All Transit services will NOT be operating on January 1.

Emergency Services: Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialing “911” for emergency calls only. The fire office will be closed January 1.

Culture Services:Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace will be closed December 31 and January 1. The Milner House will be closed through January 1. The Ridge House Museum will be closed for the season as well.

Capitol Theatre:

Closed December 30 to January 1.

CK Tourism: Open December 31, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; and closed January 1, 2019.

Entegrus and Public Utilities Commission: Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed from Monday, December 31 to Tuesday, January 1. The office will be re-opening on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Health and Family Services Building:

The Health and Family Services building will be open from 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. on December 31, closed on January 1, reopening on January 2. This includes the offices of Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Child Care and Early Years, and Public Health. The Employment Resource Centres located at 240 King St. W., Chatham and 786 Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg will be closed at noon on December 31, and closed on January 1, reopening January 2. The Chatham-Kent Homeless Response Line is available at 519-354-6628. Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

Libraries: All public libraries will be closed December 30-31 and January 1.

Public Health Unit King Street: The office located at 177 King St. E., Chatham will be open 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on December 31, and closed on January 1, reopening on January 2, 2018.

Provincial Offences Court: The Provincial Offences Court will be closed at noon December 31 through January 1, re-opening January 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. Payments may be made at a Municipal Service Centre or on-line at www.paytickets.ca. If your licence is suspended, please attend a Service Ontario Office for payment of the fine and reinstatement fee.

Recreation Services:Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool will close at 1:30 p.m. on December 31. Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool will close at 1:00 p.m. on December 31.

Both pools are closed on January 1.

Arenas:

December 31 – Blenheim arena is open for limited bookings. Free skates will take place at Blenheim, Dresden, Ridgetown and Wallaceburg arenas. The Holiday Skate schedule is available at https://www.chatham-kent.ca/parks-recreation/arenas. All other arenas are closed.

January 1 – Tilbury arena is open for limited bookings. All other arenas are closed.

Riverview Gardens: Reception and administrative offices will be closed January 1, but services, activities and visiting hours continue as normal. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

Waste and Recycling: Curbside garbage and recycling collection services will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week from December 25th, 2018 and January 1st, 2019 respectively. Please refer to the Recycling and Waste Collection Guide for further details.

Operating hours for Transfer Stations and Leaf & Yard Depots are as follows:

Chatham-Kent Tourism: CK Tourism will be closed from noon Monday, December 31 through Tuesday, January 1. To access visitor information at any time, please go to visitck.ca.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance services altered over the Holiday Season

Some healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered over the holiday season.

Routine X-rays, electrocardiograms (EKG), and ultrasounds will not be available on January 1, 2019 and will reopen on January 2. These departments will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Out-Patient Rehabilitation Services at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will not be available January 1, 2019. This department will be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients.

The Diabetes Education Centre and the TIA and CAD clinics will be closed on January 1, 2019.

Pulmonary Function Lab, Chatham and Wallaceburg sites, will be closed January 1, 2019 and will reopen January 2, 2019.

The Chatham-Kent Out-Patient Mental Health and Addictions Program will be closed January 1, 2019, and will reopen on January 2. For any immediate crisis, please call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447 or visit your nearest Emergency Room.

Out-Patient Lab Services will be closed on December 31, 2018 and January 1, 2019 and will reopen on January 2, 2019.

The Pre-Surgical Screening Department will be closed January 1, 2019 and will reopen on January 2, 2019.

The Patient Appointment Office will be closed January 1, 2019.

Health Records will be closed on January 1, 2019.

Elston Pharmacy, located at the Chatham Site, will reopen Monday, December 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Pharmacy will be closed January 1, 2019 and back to regular business hours on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Ambulatory Care Department Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be closed on December 31, 2018 and January 1, 2019.

The Oncology Department will be closed on January 1, 2019.

The Business Office and Cashier’s Office will be closed on January 1, 2019 and will reopen on January 2, 2019. Please note there are two bill changers in the building to accommodate change for coin.

Hemodialysis Care will be closed on January 1, 2019. The department will resume normal hours on January 2, 2019.

The Emergency Departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites are open 24 hours daily.
