Wallaceburg Lakers pick up first win of the season

The Wallaceburg Lakers picked up their first win of the season on Thursday night, January 10.

The Lakers topped the Petrolia Flyers by a score of 4-2.

“Congrats boys tonight recording the first full win of the season,” the team posted on social media.

“You played with determination for sure.”

Scoring for Wallaceburg was Myles Fraser, Cameron Wheeler, Cody Nicolaisen and Jeff Williams.

Fraser’s goal ended up being the game winner, as it broke a 2-2 tie at the 15:07 mark of the second period.

Patrick Timpany made 26 saves for the victory between the pipes.

Petrolia out-shot the Lakers 28-24.

The win improves Wallaceburg’s record to 1-29-0-2 on the season.

The Lakers next game will be played outdoors on Saturday, January 12 at Lanspeary Park in Windsor.

It is a 2 p.m. puck drop against the Amherstburg Admirals.
