‘Complete loss’ after a fire in Chatham

The investigation continues after an early morning blaze in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services officials tweeted that crews from Stations #1 and #2 responded to a house fire on Colborne Street just after 1 a.m.

Fire officials say the joint actions of the Fire Department, Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent EMS contained the fire and all of the occupants were accounted for.

“The cause is unknown,” fire officials say, adding that the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is not being called in to investigate.

Police officials say the damage has resulted in a complete loss.

“All occupants were able to get out safely,” police officials said in a media release.

“The cause of the fire was undetermined.”
