St. Clair Catholic District School Board Launches Thoughtexchange – Broad Community Consultation

Last week, the St. Clair Catholic District School Board has launched an exciting process of discovery into how they can work together to build Catholic education for the future.

Thoughtexchange is a dynamic online tool that will facilitate a broad consultation with students, teachers, support staff, trustees, parents and guardians, and Indigenous, community and parish partners.

“Thoughtexchange will help us to prepare our students for the future,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education.

“The information we learn through this online conversation will help to inform our new strategic plan, which will guide student learning for the next five years.”

Thoughtexchange has three steps:

1. Share – first people share thoughts independently and confidentially;

2. Star – next everyone considers and rates thoughts shared by others;

3. Discover – and finally, everyone learns the ideas we have in common and what we value as a community.

Board staff worked with a number of students and a local media company 42 North in Blenheim to produce a video, which helps to explain how Thoughtexchange works.

“This an exciting time for St. Clair Catholic, as we begin the work of building a new strategic plan,” says John Van Heck, Chair of the Board. “We want all of our stakeholders to have a voice in this important conversation.”

Thoughtexchange opens today and runs for two weeks.

Stakeholders can join the conversation by visiting https://my.thoughtexchange.com/#p885878906 or the Board website at www.st-clair.net/thoughtexchange or by using the QR Code below on mobile devices.
