Driving and drug charges laid in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 29, 2018 around 11:30 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed a woman driving in Dresden even though she was suspended for unpaid fines.

The officer attempted to stop the woman, however she accelerated and drove carelessly through the town in an effort to evade police.

A warrant was subsequently issued for her arrest.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the woman leaving a business in Dresden.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine.

A 30-year-old Walpole Island woman was charged with driving while under suspension, careless driving, flight from police and drug possession.

She was released pending a future court date of February 7, 2019.
