‘Golden Arches’ replaced in Wallaceburg

The ‘Golden Arches’ outside of Wallaceburg’s McDonald’s restaurant have been replaced.

Melisa DeKort, the manager at the Wallaceburg location, told the Sydenham Current she believes the old sign had been installed for over 40 years.

“I believe that they went in in 1977,” DeKort said, adding that it was time for a change.

“We were having issues with getting the electrical serviced. We switched out the lighting inside of the sign a few times and we fixed the exterior of the sign a few times.”

DeKort said the new sign that was installed last week is programmable.

“We switched to LED lighting… so it is a little bit easier on the environment,” she added.

DeKort said that the new sign should be fully functional sometime this week.

“We are excited about it,” she said.
