OPP: Poor driving conditions in Lambton County, 402 closed

Driving conditions are poor in parts of Lambton County, OPP officials say.

– Lakeshore Road between Mandaumin and Camlachie Roads is now open but, in very poor driving condition.

– Forest Road from the Town of Forest south to the 402 Highway is open.

– The 402 Highway remains closed west and east bound from Mandaumin to Kerwood Roads as plows and tow trucks attempt to clear snow and remove vehicles.

“The OPP is reminding motorists to drive slow in winter conditions and to check the weather prior to travel,” OPP officials say.

The Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are warning motorists to avoid travel as area roadways within north Lambton are experiencing low to zero visibility due to blowing snow.

Several cars have been left abandoned and others have entered ditches.

The OPP has attended to all affected motorists.

“Due to poor visibility the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed the 402 Highway east and west bound between Mandaumin and Kerwood Roads, County of Lambton. Motorists are advised to avoid this area. The OPP is advising motorists to avoid travel until this storm has left the area and affected roadways are safe to travel.”
