Budget open house in Wallaceburg tonight
Community open house sessions about the 2019 Chatham-Kent budget will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday, January 23, 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm

Chatham-Kent staff presented the draft budget document to Chatham-Kent Council on Wednesday evening, January 16.
Faced with some uncertainties, especially in regards to pending provincial funding through the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund, administration presented a budget with a tax increase ranging from 1.7% to 2.03%.
The draft budget includes a 1% increase in annual infrastructure funding, including an additional $550,000 for bridges.
‘Coffee with a Cop’ this morning
Just a reminder that members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service will be at McDonald’s on St. Clair Street in Chatham this morning between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
“No agenda or speeches, just a chance to have a casual conversation with a police officer over a cup of coffee,” police officials say.
Each guest that comes in to chat with us will receive one free small coffee courtesy of McDonald’s.
