Officer struck in the nose during arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

When the man was asked to leave, he refused.

As the officers placed the man under arrest for trespassing, he resisted and a struggle ensued resulting in an officer being struck in the nose.

The man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with failing to leave premise when directed, resisting peace officer and assaulting peace officer.

He was released pending a future court date of February 27, 2019.
