Freezing rain warning

Freezing rain will continue this morning.

Freezing rain could be significant with amounts of 5 to 15 mm possible, leading to ice build-up on untreated surfaces. The freezing rain should transition to rain by noon today.

This freezing rain is associated with a Colorado Low that will cross Southern Ontario tonight into Wednesday.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Beware of branches or electrical wires that could break under the weight of ice. Utility outages may occur.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
