‘Red Tape’ meeting cancelled due to ice storm

Due to the ice storm, tonight’s engagement session regarding the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Continuous Improvement and “Red Tape” Reduction Project has been cancelled.

The session, hosted by Community Development, has been re-scheduled for tomorrow night February 13, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. It will be located in the Council Chambers on the 2nd floor at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre at 315 King Street West in Chatham.

Anyone who has registered does not need to re-register for the event. Registrations are not mandatory.

The event will include an overview of the project and examples of continuous improvement activities that are being implemented in the divisions of Building Development Services, Planning Services, Economic Development Services, and Legal Services.

The Continuous Improvement and “Red Tape” Reduction Project was launched in June of 2018 and has included an internal review of existing activities. The project is focused on identifying new opportunities for improving Community Development’s processes and allow for easier investment and growth across Chatham-Kent.

Following the presentations, there will be a facilitated engagement session to collect questions, feedback, and comments regarding additional opportunities for reducing red tape. Included as part of the facilitated discussion, members of the public are invited to make a formal deputation. This can be done by contacting Jenn Wiseman at 519-360-1998 x3801 or email at JenniferW@chatham-kent.ca.
