Special weather statement issued

While a freezing rain warning has ended in Chatham-Kent, a special weather statement has been put in place.

Environment Canada officials say strong west to southwest winds are expected later this evening until midday Wednesday.

“A cold front will sweep across the regions tonight and give wind gusts to 80 kilometres per hour,” forecasters say.

“The gusty winds will continue into Wednesday morning accompanied by flurries giving reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Travel may be affected due to wind gusts and reduced visibilities.”
