Today – A few flurries ending near noon then mainly cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries. Blowing snow this morning. Wind west 60 km/h gusting to 90 diminishing to 40 gusting to 70 this morning. High minus 5. Wind chill minus 21 in the morning and minus 12 in the afternoon. UV index 3 or moderate.

Tonight – Mainly cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries late this evening and overnight. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 10. Wind chill near minus 15.

Strong winds continuing this morning.

Strong southwest winds with frequent gusts of 90 km/h are expected to continue early this morning.

Higher wind gusts of greater 90 km/h are possible along the shores of the Great Lakes.

The damaging winds will start to diminish this morning

Power outages, damage to trees and structures are being reported across the regions.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Blowing snow advisory

Reduced visibilities in local blowing snow continue today.

Flurries and strong westerly winds with gusts of 60 to 90 km/h are expected today. Any fresh snow will be whipped up by the winds creating areas of reduced visibility in exposed areas. Snowfall accumulations are expected to be light.

Conditions will slowly improve this morning as winds begin to diminish.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
