A special weather statement has been issued, as snowfall of near 10 cm is expected today.
Environment Canada officials say light snow is affecting portions of Southwestern Ontario late this morning but is expected to intensify somewhat this afternoon.
Total snowfall accumulations of around 10 cm are likely by evening, although a few locales may receive even higher amounts.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution as road conditions may be rather poor at times.
