Life threatening injuries after Lambton crash

Lambton OPP officials allege: On March 3, 2019 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the 2000 Block of Cameron Road south of Courtright Line to investigate a single motor vehicle collision.

Initial investigation has revealed that a large Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) had been travelling south on Cameron Road when it failed to successfully negotiate a turn in in the road.

The SUV left the roadway striking and completely severing a hydro pole finally coming to rest against a tree.

The collision was so severe that the body of the SUV separated from the chassis.

The driver, a 27-year-old male from Oil Springs who remained trapped in the SUV was extricated by the Alvinston Fire Department suffering severe injuries.

A 55-year-old male from Plympton and a 47-year-old female from Petrolia were both ejected from the SUV.

The 55-year-old male suffers life threatening injuries and the 47-year-old female, serious injuries.

The fourth passenger in the SUV, a 22-year-old male from Dawn-Euphemia was able to walk away from the impact suffering serious injuries.

Hydro One attended in order secure the hydro pole and downed lines.

All passengers were transported to hospital by ambulance.

The OPP West Region Technical Traffic Investigators did attend to gather additional evidence within the collision scene.

Cameron Road south of Courtright Line remains partially closed due to hydro line repair.

The names of the passengers will not be released pending sufficient next-of-kin notification. The investigation is ongoing.
