CKPS celebrate ‘Pink Shirt Day’

Bullying has traditionally been identified as a ‘school problem’ but it really is a community issue that also affects workplaces, homes and those online.

This past Wednesday, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were wearing pink shirts in an effort to raise awareness and remind everyone that bullying must stop.

“We want the citizens of Chatham-Kent to remember that bullying is not something that can be ignored,” stated Constable Renee Cowell in a press release.

“Whether it’s the traditional face to face bullying at school, cyberbullying via the Internet, bullying by a loved one at home or workplace bullying, it’s time we stop being a silent bystander. This is a call to action. Instead of teaching our kids how to deal with a bully, let’s teach them not to be one.”
