Driver charged after a crash in St. Clair

Lambton OPP officials allege: On March 3, 2019 at approximately 12:15 p.m. the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the intersection of Mandaumin Road and LaSalle Line in St. Clair Township to investigate a motor vehicle collision.

Initial investigation revealed that one passenger vehicle was travelling west bound on LaSalle Line approaching Mandaumin Road.

It was at the time a second passenger vehicle was stopped at a stop sign controlling north bound Mandaumin Road at LaSalle Line.

The vehicle stopped at the stop sign, proceeded to enter the intersection, colliding with the west bound vehicle.

As a result of the collision one of the vehicles left the roadway striking a hydro pole prompting the attendance of Hydro One.

Two drivers and one passenger were treated for moderate injuries by ambulance personnel and sent to hospital.

The at-fault driver, a 51-year-old female from Lambton Shores who entered the intersection from north bound Mandaumin Road was charged for failing to yield right of way.
