Midget Rep Team off to OMHA finals

The Wallaceburg Midget Rep Lakers hockey team has advanced to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association Midget ‘B’ finals.

The Lakers will face against either Listowel or Penetang in the championship.

Wallaceburg defeated Ayr six points to none in the semi-final series.

The Lakers capped off the series win on Friday night in Ayr with a 2-0 victory.

Kellen Franquist and Tanner Cole scored for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers won Game #1 in the series 5-4 in overtime in Ayr and they also won Game #2 in Wallaceburg last week, 3-0.

The squad is currently on an undefeated playoff run.

In order to off-set costs associated with travel for their upcoming OMHA championship series, the team has launched a GoFundMe campaign.

“We will be taking a coach bus to these games and are looking for support to help cover the cost of the bus,” the GoFundMe page states.
