A load posting has been implemented for the Clachan Road Bridge.
Municipality of Chatham-Kent officials say the Clachan Road Bridge over the Thames River is located on Clachan Road between Austin Line and Longwoods Road.
“The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has recently completed an inspection of this structure as part of the bi-annual bridge inspection program,” officials say.
“Due to some deterioration found during the inspection; and the requirements of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC); a triple load posting of – / 36 / 48 tonnes is being implemented.”
Officials with the Engineering & Transportation division say this load posting will remain in place until a rehabilitation takes place in the next few years.
