Enactus Lambton wins 7th straight Central Canadian Championship for entrepreneurship

The accolades continue to roll in for Enactus Lambton.

The innovative student group, who took home the Enactus World Cup in October, are celebrating another victory after claiming their 7th consecutive Central Canadian Championship for Entrepreneurship.

The Enactus Canada Regional Exposition took place in Mississauga over the weekend, where Enactus teams from universities and colleges throughout central Canada showcased their community outreach projects and business ventures through rounds of live competition.

Enactus Lambton claimed the top spot in two of their matchups winning the TD Entrepreneurship Challenge for the 7th straight time. The team also claimed their 4th Scotiabank Environmental Challenge award since they entered the Enactus circuit in 2012.

Their regional success has earned the defending champions a return visit to the Enactus Canada National Exposition taking place May 7 – 9 in Vancouver.

In internationals news, Enactus Lambton is currently vying for one of the top spots in Germany’s Green Tech Awards – the largest green innovation awards event on the planet. Online votes for the team’s Project One Seed can be cast online at greentechfestival.com/green-awards until March 18, 2019.

About Project One Seed

Project One Seed supports over 100 villages in Zambia, Africa, teaching no-till farming to over 30,000 local farmers. This type of farming increases yields while keeping water and nutrients in the soil, decreasing erosion and using less fertilizer. This keeps carbon in the ground and CO2 out of the air. The results of One Seed have already kept over 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 out of the air and provided over 270,000 individuals with food security. With $48.8 million in new profits earned this year, farmers are sending their kids to school, building solar-powered drip irrigation and launching many new businesses all leading to a brighter tomorrow.
