The Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts is preparing for their next concert as Ben Caplan & the Casual Smokers are coming to Wallaceburg next month.

The show will take place on Saturday, April 13.

Organizers say tickets are already over half sold.

“So if you’re interested in seeing this unique world class show, you need to get your tickets on-line at eventbrite.ca or at the Wallaceburg Museum,” Arts Council officials say.

“For this show, Ben will be presenting music from his musical ‘Old Stock’ which is about Jewish refugees arriving in Halifax in the early 20th Century. The play has already had a successful run in New York and is poised to open in Toronto in the near future.”

Arts Council officials say Ben Caplan’s spring 2019 tour includes pretty well every major centre in Canada… Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa “and Wallaceburg… by far the smallest venue on the tour.

“We are the only stop between Winnipeg and Toronto. It’s kind of a big deal for us to host this. Only 120 tickets will be sold, so get moving,” Arts Council officials say.

Another show has also been added to this year’s series, as the Arts Council will be presenting ‘Celebrate Trent Severn’ on Saturday, June 15 at the Jeanne Gordon Theatre.

“This will be the last performance together for his popular group and they have chosen Wallaceburg as the location for it,” Arts Council officials say.

“Tickets will be available in the very near future.”
