Dresden Novice & Bantam team’s vying for OMHA championships

The Dresden Junior Kings have reached the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) ‘DD’ finals in both the Bantam and Novice divisions.

The Novice team had a very successful season with 12 wins, five ties and three losses throughout the regular season.

They swept the Plattsville Rage in the semi-finals earning their spot in the finals against the Cayuga Stars.

The series will begin this weekend in Cayuga on Saturday, March 16.

Game #2 will be in Dresden the following day, Sunday, March 17 at 4 p.m. at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.

The Bantams, who were also finalists in the Silver Stick Regional tournament in January, swept the West Lorne Comets in the preliminary round, topped the St. George Generals in the quarter finals and knocked out the Huron Bruce Blizzards in the semi-finals.

The Bantams will now face the Otonabee Wolves in a six-point series.

Games #1 and # 2 will be Saturday, March 16 and Sunday March 17 in Otonabee.

Games #3 and #4 will be on Saturday, March 23 at 4:20 p.m. and Sunday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m. in Dresden.
