Fundraiser held for Hayden in Wallaceburg

By Rori Bennett – Junior Reporter

Chatham-Kent gathered as a community on Monday night in Wallaceburg, to support Hayden Foulon.

Hayden was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.) in January 2014.

A.L.L. is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

Hayden is now battling this disease for the third time in her young life.

Many volunteers, led by Kristyna Roocroft, Tina Vilaranda, Michelle Shaw, and other local vendors, pulled together to create a penny social designed to raise money for Hayden and her family.

“I enjoyed volunteering for this event,” Roocroft told the Sydenham Current.

“Thanks to every person who attended and donated items to make tonight a success.”

The doors to the CBD Club in Wallaceburg opened at 5 p.m. for the event.

Many vendors chose to donate their time and products.

A list of vendors included: Epicure, Younique, Thirty One, Sipology, Scentsy, Sanetha Angel Readings, Tupperware, Bella Chocolatiere, Leggings by Jane, Diamond Paintings, Wood Crafts, Pillows, I Can Make That Too Crafts and more.

There were also over 50 door prizes to be won.

Out of respect for Hayden’s family, the total dollars raised from the auction will not be shared with the public.

Lindsay Foulon, Hayden’s mom, thanked everyone for their support in a social media post.

“Wallaceburg is such an amazing community, and it means so much to our family that you all came together to help our family out during such a challenging time,” Lindsay wrote.
