Man charged with dangerous driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 3 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol attempted to stop a vehicle for an HTA violation on Allison Line.

The vehicle left the roadway and drove through a farmer’s field on Harwich Road.

Officers observed the vehicle again on Mull Road with damaged tires from driving through the field.

Police stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

The 34-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He will be released pending a future court date of May 8, 2019.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a man and his girlfriend began arguing while at her residence in Wallaceburg.

The incident escalated into a physical altercation.

As the woman tried to call police using her cell phone, the man grabbed the phone and broke it.

The woman ran to a neighbour’s house for help.

The 30-year-old Walpole Island man fled prior to police arrival, however was located just before midnight.

He has been charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 22, 2019 a man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Last night, police located the man and he was taken into custody.

The 24-year-old Wallaceburg man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to an alarm at the Downtown Chatham Centre.

Upon arrival, police learned that unknown suspects forced their way into the Mall and stole items from the Virgin Mobile kiosk.
