Police: Tools stolen, impaired driving, stunt driving

Theft of tools

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning, unknown suspects forced their way into a building on Gillard Street in Wallaceburg and stole approximately $2,500 in tools.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning, shortly after 3:30 a.m. police received a traffic complaint about a vehicle in Harwich Twp.

Officers located the vehicle and through investigation, believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 19-year-old Chatham man was charged with adult operation while impaired and adult operation while impaired 80 plus.

He was released pending a future court date of April 17, 2019.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, members of the Traffic Unit conducted traffic enforcement on Fairview line.

A 22-year-old Blenheim man was stopped and charged with stunt driving as an officer recorded him travelling 131km/h through the posted 80km/h zone.

His vehicle was impounded for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program and his driver’s license was suspended for 7 days.
