Public Works Trade Show coming to C-K

In partnership with the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS), the Chatham-Kent Road Association (CKRA) is pleased to be hosting the 2019 AORS Municipal Public Works Trade Show on June 5 and 6, 2019 from 8 am to 3 pm at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham, Ontario. Admission is free and it is fully open to the public.

It is the largest of its kind in Ontario with between 200 and 300 exhibitors of public works products and services, and upwards of 2,000 participants.

Guests can expect to get an “up close and personal” glimpse of the equipment and technology that assists with the maintenance of roads, water, and sewers within Chatham-Kent and across the province of Ontario. In addition to viewing and taking photos of heavy equipment that is typically not accessible to the public, various simulators and demonstrations will provide an opportunity to “drive a snow plow in severe weather,” or to “sit at the controls of a backhoe loader at work in a typical construction site.”

Glenn Harding, Chairperson of the 2019 AORS Municipal Public Works Trade Show encourages families and students to attend. “This is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about what we do and to see the vehicles and technologies that assist us with our daily work. It is also a chance for young adults interested in careers in the heavy equipment industry and public works to gain some “hands-on” experience.”
