Business trends and game-changers being explored

Businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovation enthusiasts are invited to attend a special seminar called TeCK Talk: Technology, Media & Telecommunications Predictions 2019.

The May 8, 2019 event, which is being hosted by Chatham-Kent Economic Development in partnership with WEtech Alliance, is being held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Chatham-Kent John D. Bradley Convention Centre on 565 Richmond Street in Chatham.

The event features special Guest Speaker, Duncan Stewart, Director of Technology, Media & Telecommunications Research for Deloitte Canada. Stewart will present a series of industry trends, predictions, and game-changers for business in 2019 and beyond.

“It is vital for industry to understand the trends coming their way so they can anticipate, adapt, and be ready with a proactive strategy rather then a reactive measure,” said Andrew Tompsett, Marketing and Communications Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development.

“One of the roles of Economic Development is to ensure that our business community has access to important information, which is why we are working with our partners to bring in experts.”

Deloitte Global’s annual Technology, Media & Telecommunications predictions serve as guideposts for future business strategy by providing a 1-5 year outlook on key trends in the global technology, media, and telecommunication industry sectors.

The trends help identify key challenges and areas of focus for the world’s TMT brands as they navigate the impact of new technologies shaping the future of industry.

“This is a superb opportunity for businesses and entrepreneurs in Chatham-Kent to gain insights into both what is happening now on the ground and also five to ten steps ahead,” said Yvonne Pilon, President and CEO of WEtech Alliance. “In a matter of 2 hours, attendees will hear the lessons learned through hundreds of conversations with industry leaders and tens of thousands of consumer interviews across the globe.”

The event is open to community business leaders and entrepreneurs from across Chatham-Kent. To register for the event, visit www.investck.ca or call Economic Development at 519-351-7700.
