Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, just before midnight, an officer on general patrol observed a man walking on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg wanted for mischief under $5,000, failing to attend for his fingerprints and failing to attend court.

As the officer placed the man under arrest, a struggle began, resulting in a conductive energy weapon being deployed to effect the arrest.

The 29-year-old Wallaceburg man was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 6 p.m. last night, police located an intoxicated man lying on the sidewalk on Richmond Street in Chatham.

The 49-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody for his own safety as he was unable to care for himself.

He has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place and will be released this morning when sober.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Saturday at 1 p.m. and yesterday at 3 p.m. unknown suspects forced their way into the Chatham E-Bikes store on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole:

– black Swann video surveillance hard drive valued at $200

– red and black Daymak EM2 e-bike valued at $3,800

– black EMMO bike valued at $3,000

– red Daymak e-bike valued at $2,000

– 12 chargers valued at $100 each

– GPS device valued at $300

– Loose change
