Disturbance leads to stabbing

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, two men known to each other began arguing outside an apartment complex on Raleigh Street in Chatham.

The incident escalated into a physical altercation resulting in one man being stabbed multiple times with a knife.

The victim, a 44-year-old Chatham man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

He was treated and released.

A 22-year-old man of no fixed address was located by police a short distance away and arrested.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with his Probation Order.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breaching his release conditions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 1, 2019 a man was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Just before 3 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a stranded motorist on Bear Line Road near Belle Rose Line.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was out past his curfew.

The 52-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, a man wanted for two counts of domestic related criminal harassment attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Courthouse for a bail hearing.

He was released pending a future court date of May 17, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a man wanted for domestic related criminal harassment attended police headquarters and turned himself in.

The 44-year-old Stratford man was released pending a future court date of May 31, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police located a woman in Blenheim who was wanted by Windsor Police Service.

The 31-year-old woman was arrested and turned over to Windsor officers for court purposes.

Men charged with liquor related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located an intoxicated man laying behind a business on King Street in Chatham.

The 49-year-old Chatham was arrested as he was unable to care for himself.

He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just after midnight, police responded to an establishment in Chatham in regards to an unwanted man.

The intoxicated man was asked to leave by staff, however he refused.

For his own safety, the man was taken into custody.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

He will be released when sober.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 7 p.m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Park Avenue West near Lacroix Street in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.
