Man charged with breaching his probation order

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 26, 2019 a man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend Value Village in Chatham.

Last night, police attended Value Village in regards to the report of a suspicious man in the store.

A 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his Probation Order.

He was released pending a future court date of May 21, 2019.

Stolen vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Sunday night at 9 p.m. and Monday morning at 8 a.m. unknown suspects stole a red 2011 Chevy Cruz that was parked on Holland Avenue.

The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates BMVJ 425 and was left unlocked with the keys inside.

In the trunk was a Benelli Super Black Eagle II 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun with ammunition.

Theft of tools in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime over the weekend, unknown suspects forced their way into a workshop on Water Street and stole various tools valued at $8,000.

Theft of jewelry in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime yesterday between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. unknown suspects forced their way into a residence on Canterbury Street stealing jewelry and cash.
