Impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 17 at approximately 4:45 p.m. police responded to the area of Kiel Drive and Grand Ave W. Chatham for a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located and a 39-year-old Windsor resident was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for a breath test and was further charged with Refuse Breath Test.

The accused was released when sober with a Promise to Appear to a future court date.

Breach of peace and warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 17 police and EMS units were dispatched to a suspicious male on Grand Ave E. in Chatham.

A 30 year old Windsor man was located laying in proximity to the road way.

The man was intoxicated by drug and did not require medical intervention.

He was arrested as he was unable to care for himself.

During the arrest process the man was found to be wanted in Windsor for theft charges.

The man was transported to Windsor and transferred into their custody.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 17 police conducted RIDE checks across the Municipality.

350 vehicles were checked.

Four Part III Summons, and one Offence Notice were issued.

Three Field Sobriety Tests were issued with no impaired charges being levied.
