Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Thames Street, Chatham in response to a call of a disturbance.

A 33-year-old Chatham man was located, observed to be under the influence of illicit drugs and not able to care for his own wellbeing.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged until able to care for self.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: While at the Thames Street disturbance, a 27 year old Chatham man, known to be wanted in London, Ontario, on an outstanding London Police Service, warrant, was located and arrested on the strength of the London Police Service warrant.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: While at the Thames Street disturbance, a 37-year-old Chatham woman, known to be wanted on an outstanding Chatham-Kent Police warrant, was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.

Distracted Driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Ontario’s distracted driving laws apply to the use of hand-held communication/entertainment devices and certain display screens.

While you are driving, including when you are stopped in traffic or at a red light, it is illegal to:

– Use a phone or other hand-held wireless communication device to text or dial.

– Use a hand-held electronic entertainment device, such as a tablet or portable gaming console.

– View display screens unrelated to driving, such as watching a video.
