Man charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early yesterday morning, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Mac’s on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

A man and woman entered the convenience store and stole approximately $3000 worth of lottery tickets.

Through investigation, police have identified the pair.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

A 49-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of June 17, 2019.

Police continue to look for the woman.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

The woman assaulted a man known to her.

The 32-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date of June 17, 2019.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man wanted for assault and failing to attend court.

The 31-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, an officer on general patrol located a woman wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions.

Through investigation, she was additionally charged with three counts of failing to comply as she was breaching her curfew and in possession of credit cards not in her name, both contrary to her release conditions.

The 30-year-old Chatham woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police arrested a woman wanted for fraud related offences and failing to attend court.

The 29-year-old Chatham woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 7:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Raleigh Street near Richmond Street in Chatham.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old Chatham woman, was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and transferred to Windsor with serious injuries.

Total damage was estimated at $7,000.

The driver of the car, a 21-year-old Elora woman was charged with making a turn not in safety.

Weapons charges, possession of meth

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly before 2 p.m. on June 1, a landlord of a Chatham residence attended with police for an emergency
inspection when a .22 cal rifle was located on a couch.

Police also located a pistol grip shotgun, 1.8 ounces of methamphetamine, scales, and cash in plain view.

The 39 year old tenant was located on scene and arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Unsafe Storage of a firearm.

He was held for bail.

Intoxicated in a public place in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 2 p.m. on Saturday a 54-year-old male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place after being located walking on Murray Street and unable to care for himself.

He was lodged until sober.

Impaired/care and control in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, in the area of Murray Street a 53-year-old male was located in his vehicle, appearing intoxicated by alcohol.

The male was arrested and transported to Headquarters where breath tests were completed and he was further charged with Over 80.

He was released from custody with a future court date.

Bail violation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: During a routine traffic stop on Fairview Line around 10:30 p.m., police found the driver to be in breach of his curfew.

The 24 year old male was arrested for Breach of Undertaking and was held for bail.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Friday afternoon, a 32-year-old Walpole Island male was located by Walpole Island Police and turned over to Chatham-Kent Police on warrants for failing to attend court.

As a result of the arrest the male was brought over to the court house for a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Friday evening police on general patrol located a wanted man on Merritt Ave in Chatham.

A 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested for breach of probation.

The male party was released from custody with a future court date.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Friday afternoon police on general patrol located a 49-year-old female wanted for breaching her court ordered curfew.

As a result she was arrested and transferred to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Man charged with being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late Friday evening police located an intoxicated man in Dresden walking on the roadway.

For his own safety, the man was taken into custody as he was unable to care for himself.

The 19-year-old Oneida man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

He was released when sober.
