Maple City Homes Home Building Plan

A ribbon cutting is planned for June 19 at 3:30p.m. at the Park Avenue entrance between Howard Road and Bloomfield Road, the site of what will be developed into approximately 380 private homes. The development is the first of this scale to be done in more than four decades in the Chatham-Kent area. This new development will feature modern, single-family homes, as well as a park for children and families. The development, which is strategically located close to 401 access, will be marketed to not just residents of Chatham-Kent, but commuters that will be working in the surrounding areas of London and Windsor where housing prices have significantly risen in the past five years.

“We know that there is a lack of housing in the Chatham-Kent area,” said Robb Nelson, President of Maple City Homes. “We are fulfilling a pent up demand of local buyers. Chatham-Kent is growing fast, we are attracting young families, retirees, and commuters, but we need to have quality, affordable housing available to retain these new citizens.” Maple City Homes is a locally owned and operated company with ten employees and utilizes the skills of more than 40 sub-contractors. The first phase of this development will see 93 homes built, injecting
over 30 million dollars into the local economy.

In their recent history Maple City Homes Ltd. has built over 50 homes in Chatham-Kent and currently has 30 homes underway. “We are working as much as possible with our local trades and it has been rewarding to see some of their businesses expand to meet our needs,” said Stephanie Simmons, Operations Manager. “We also have very dedicated staff that take pride in their work to support the goals of the corporation. We are very thankful to the Partners of MCH to be in a position to provide opportunities for our staff to grow and develop with the company.”

Using this unique opportunity to assist in the expansion of Chatham-Kent, Maple City Homes has partnered with their local Royal Lepage branch to enhance the sales process for their clients. Maple City Homes also lists all of their products on MLS, encouraging cooperation with Realtors. “The external demand for homes in CK has put tremendous pressure on our local housing market; many people have been priced out or are unable to contend with the fast paced sales of used inventory,” said Carson Warrener, VP of Sales and Marketing for MCH and licenced Realtor with Royal Lepage Peifer Realty. “Delivering modern, efficient homes at competitive prices will provide a stable housing option in our marketplace. I want our customers to feel welcome at the table with their trusted Realtor.”
