Man charged with obstruct police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police observed a man wanted by St. Thomas Police riding his bicycle on Fourth Street in Chatham.

The officer stopped the man who falsely identified himself.

As the officer placed him under arrest, the man resisted by pushing the officer.

The man fled on foot, however was taken into custody a short distance away.

The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with obstruct police and assault peace officer.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police find man wearing stolen shoes

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, an officer on general patrol located a man in a parking lot on Thames Street in Chatham wanted for breaching his Probation Order.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of four live 12-gauge shotgun shells, contrary to his Prohibition Order.

Through investigation, the officer also determined that the man was wearing shoes stolen from a vehicle over the weekend.

The 33-year-old Chatham man has been charged with being in possession of ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 27, 2019 a woman reported to police that a woman known to her was harassing and threatening her and her kids.

Through investigation, police learned that the unwanted personal visits and phone calls had been occurring since October 2018.

Attempts were made to locate the woman, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Late last night, police located the woman and she was arrested.

The 41-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with criminal harassment, forcible confinement and six counts of uttering threats.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, Sarnia Police located a man wanted for failing to attend court in Chatham last month.

The 24-year-old man was arrested and transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police located a man wanted in connection with domestic violence.

The 44-year-old Chatham man has been charged with domestic related offences and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
